What perhaps makes this situation very interesting, is the reported interest in Fernandes from Spurs’ London rivals: West Ham and Chelsea. And after hearing about the links to the 21-year-old, fans of the north London side took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on situation.
Some fans of the north London side expressed their thoughts on how he would fit into their midfield, with a few suggesting he could represent an upgrade on what they have.
A couple of fans brought up Sporting CP ace Bruno Fernandes who has also previously been linked with a move to Spurs, with one supporter jokingly suggesting that Daniel Levy appears to be going for the wrong name.
For an 18-month loan, a swoop for Fernandes certainly seems like a no-brainer. Spurs can give him every opportunity to make a real impression for himself, before deciding on whether or not to actually pursue him on a permanent basis. It allows them the buffer to expose him to the hustle and bustle of English football and seeing whether he can adapt. It’s a low risk move, but with potentially high reward.
Meanwhile, Tottenham fans want this proven striker to be signed following Harry Kane’s injury blow.
