Liverpool have not made life easy for their fans this season due to inconsistent performances and results on the pitch.
After losing 2-0 to Leicester City in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, Jurgen Klopp’s side took on the Foxes again, but this time in the Premier League.
Pressure was on the Reds’ shoulders to get a result at the King Power Stadium following a winless run of four matches in all competitions.
It was a frantic game on Saturday evening, with five goals being scored, as well as a saved penalty.
Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho gave Liverpool a 2-0 lead inside the first 25 minutes, but a scrappy Shinji Okazaki goal put Leicester right back in it on the stroke of half time.
Craig Shakespeare’s side came out fighting after the break, and even after going 3-1 down following Jordan Henderson’s strike, they responded almost immediately through Jamie Vardy.
A worrying moment for Liverpool came deep in the second half when goalkeeper Simon Mignolet came off his line and brought down Vardy, giving away a penalty.
The Belgian, though, went from zero to hero in a matter of moments when he saved the striker’s attempt from the spot.
In the end, Liverpool held on to a 3-2 victory, which moved them up to fifth in the Premier League table, but the fans are praying for easier wins in the future.
