According to Football Ghana, Everton are amongst the clubs tracking striker Benjamin Tetteh, who Sparta Prague want €12 million (£10.7 million) for in this January transfer window.
What’s the story?
The Toffees are likely on the hunt for a new striker to challenge Cenk Tosun’s place in the team. Tosun has struggled since his January 2018 arrival from Besiktas and has so far failed to produce his best form in the Premier League.
Marco Silva may have finally lost patience with the Turkish striker, and could even be looking to bring Tetteh to Goodison Park as his replacement.

The 21-year-old Ghanaian has been in fine form this season, scoring 9 goals and registering two assists in 19 league appearances.
Everton would be wise to meet Sparta Prague’s relatively modest asking price, but the move still represent something of a gamble.
A big test
As a strong, 6’4” striker, Tetteh’s size and style of game is reminiscent of Lamina Traore, who stood at 6’8”.
Traore, though a very talented player who has been prolific elsewhere, failed to adapt to the Premier League and ultimately flopped in his time at Everton. It is vital that Everton make sure Tetteh won’t encounter the same difficulties as Traore.
Tetteh, though, ought to have more success on Merseyside. He is more technically gifted and versatile than Traore, which ought to stand him in good stead for shining in English football.
However, the standard at Sparta Prague, who play in the Fortuna Liga, is lower than he’ll find in England. Given he is untested at Premier League level and a move to it represents a huge step up, he will have to be at his best to thrive for the Toffees if a deal happens.
